Voxy

Prerequisites

  • Location of your '.minecraft' folder and the '.voxy' folder within it. This changes between operating systems and sometimes the '.voxy' folder is a hidden folder within the '.minecraft' folder.

  • You have joined the server with Voxy installed at least once.

  • The zip files containing the pre-generated LODs for each of the worlds you are interested in.

  • The correct version of Voxy for the LODs you have downloaded (The mod is in alpha, I don't expect the LOD files to always be forward and backwards compatible).

Setting up your Voxy LODs for our server

Within your '.voxy' folder you'll see a saves folder and then a folder specifically for our server. It will likely be named as the IP you use to connect to the server, 'mc.aus.gg', 'aussiesmp.com', 'aussiesb.com' etc. Inside you'll then see a 'config.json' and probably a bunch of folders with seemingly random UUIDs. At this point in time I am unsure if these are consistent between peoples computers, so I'd appreciate it if people could let me know what UUIDs they got for each of the worlds in the Discord server (fingers crossed everything stays consistent except for the resource world when it is reset).

Until then I'll run you through the process of how I figured out where each of the worlds were and how to put your LODs into their folders correctly.

  1. Log out of the server (preferably taking note of the world you are in before doing this) and delete all the folders in the folder that Voxy creates for the server. You can keep your game open. Do not delete the 'config.json'.

  2. Log back into the server. Voxy will create a new folder. This folder will have a UUID as its name. Take note of the name of this folder and the world you are in, either in a text file or you can write it down somewhere.

  3. Teleport to the next world, once again taking note of the name of new folder it creates and which world you are in.

  4. Repeat this process for all the worlds you'd like to use the pre-generated LODs for. You should have a big list of UUID names and which world they are.

  5. Log out of the server. You can keep your game open.

  6. Open each of the folders of the worlds and delete everything inside them. Make sure to not delete the folder itself.

  7. You can now copy everything in the zip files into their respective world folder (you definitely took note of which world is which right?)

Troubleshooting

  • "I copied all the LODs in and when I try and log into the server my game gets stuck on a saving world screen" - I found this happens when I didn't delete everything within the world folder as stated in Step 6. There are a couple of files that Voxy will generate that seem to connect everything up as you load into the world, if Voxy can't generate these files because they already exist or something is missing, it breaks and prevents you from logging in.

  • If you run into other issues, send them in the LOD downloads thread in the suggestions channel on the Discord server. We'll try and figure it out and I'll add them here.
