"Add better guides in-game on how things work on the server, what is available and other features that new players would benefit from knowing about."

The server is definitely in need of some new documentation for players. The upcoming Visitor's Guide will be a great addition but there needs to be some more improvements in-game particularly around spawn and with the '/help' command.

I'm thinking that something along the lines of a redo of the '/help' command would be a good solution for this. Adding categories to the command would be pretty helpful. An example of a potential category could be '/help warps' and this category could have more info including the types of warps we have on the server, where to access the warps and how to request a warp etc.

"Adding a parkour competition as one of the server events. Parkour tracks could be based around builds in the SMP."

I like this idea and making the courses around existing builds on the server sounds pretty cool. I'll be adding this to the list of event types the server will run.

"Adding a place to share pictures or videos of builds. This could be done through a form to prevent issues."

I've realised I am a fool and was approaching the approval/disapproval bot for images sent in the Discord wrong.

A slight side note, I am planning on adding something that allows players to send server related social media videos to a channel on the Discord, part of this would be done through a player including a link to an externally hosted video (like YouTube) because people would probably prefer that and so I don't need to store videos on my own servers. This was part of my original concept for the livestreams as players are allowed to use clips from these livestreams in their content (hopefully in the future even include the livestream perspective during their own livestreams) and having a place where they can post links to this stuff is probably something people would be interested in.

Now what does this have to do with players sharing pictures/videos of their builds? Part of the reason I scrapped the approval/disapproval image bot was because the images sent in by players were going to be at a minimum stored temporarily on my bots server, which I wasn't a fan of. But I now realise I never had to store the images I could just do it through links like I'm planning to do for videos for this other feature.

So the approval/disapproval image/video bot is now back on the to do list because similar to videos being hosted somewhere else, images can also just be links to Imgur or other image posting platforms.

For how players will interact with it, I'm currently leaning more towards a Discord slash command over a form. This is mainly because I expect players would rather just use a command than open up a form in their browser. But I am open to keeping the discussion going and hearing more about how everyone would like to see this implemented.

"Make a booster rank in Discord. You could give this rank the '/heads' command."

I discourage players from boosting the Discord server because the server doesn't actually gain anything from it. You're much better off boosting other servers than this one.

Because of this I don't think making a booster rank would be a good idea.

More on the '/heads' command and decorative heads in the next discussion point.

"Allow players to get decorative heads from wandering traders."

The decorative heads and '/heads' command are a Supporter Rank feature and making changes to the server that give players without the Supporter Rank this feature feels a bit unfair to the players who purchased it.

The server has moved away from having a store which means players are unable to get the Supporter Rank but I am not going to give broader access to the decorative heads because the precedent was set that it is a Supporter Rank feature.

AusGG and any of our servers are not affiliated with Mojang AB or Microsoft.
